I am a Trainee Psychotherapist currently undertaking a Master of Science in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, with an expected qualification in 2027. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Social Studies (Professional Social Care) and a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alongside my psychotherapy training, I am completing an Evidence-Based Therapies course in Mental Health Coaching, which I will finish in 2026. These studies allow me to bring together a solid academic foundation and a developing toolkit of therapeutic and coaching skills, enabling me to support clients in a holistic, person-centred way.
My therapeutic practice is guided by the Pluralistic approach, which recognises that no single method of therapy works for everyone. At the heart of pluralism is collaboration, meaning we work together to explore what you want from therapy, what has helped or not helped before, and how we can tailor sessions to suit your unique needs. This may involve creating space for gentle reflection and open conversation, introducing practical coping techniques, or combining both approaches depending on what feels right for you. My focus is on ensuring that therapy remains flexible, individualised, and responsive to your evolving needs throughout the process.
I am a Student Member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), membership number M17051. This professional affiliation reflects my dedication to ethical standards, continuous development, and responsible practice as I progress through my training. I attend regular supervision and participate in ongoing professional learning to strengthen my skills, ensuring that my therapeutic work remains safe, evidence-based, and effective.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I gained extensive experience working as a Social Care Worker, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex needs. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how empathy, patience, and respectful communication can create meaningful change. In these roles, I worked within multidisciplinary teams, applied low-arousal techniques, implemented person-centred care plans, and supported individuals to achieve greater independence and emotional well-being. These experiences continue to inform my therapeutic approach today, reinforcing my belief that every person deserves compassion, understanding, and space to grow.
Within therapy, I place great emphasis on open communication and regular feedback. I believe that reviewing how sessions are progressing helps maintain a collaborative relationship and allows for adjustments in real time. Whether this involves slowing down, deepening reflection, or trying new approaches, the process always centres around your comfort and goals.
At the core of my work is the creation of a calm, safe, and non-judgemental environment. I take great care to provide warmth, empathy, and understanding so clients feel valued, supported, and truly heard. I work with individuals experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and general life stress. My aim is to empower clients to build resilience, strengthen self-awareness, and move towards lasting personal growth within a therapeutic space that prioritises safety, trust, and compassion.
